Efrosini
Hastoupi-Parousi born in Korinthos in 1956, the painter started her
adventure in the area of Art by studying free-hand and linear sketch
at the Doxiadi School of Art.
The
natural bright colours of Greece and our tradition led her to a
painting stunt between Cycladic civilization and Byzantine technique.
The result is a technical replacement of oil, gold and silver mosaic.
The quest of the lost link of the Greek civilization-because of the
Turkish domination-led the painter to the study of great trends and
great artists in Italy.
Barok,
Renaissance, Michaelangello, Rafaelo were unveiled to the painter. Men
of Art, as Gatt the Dean of Fine Arts School of Rome-showed her the
way to Newmanerism. Contemporary great Italian painters like Bruno d1
Arcevia and Renato Nosek taught her at their studios the secrets of
successive colour layers (vellatura) and the imitative art of Italian
Newmanerism.
Thus,
every stroke of her brush opens up paths of knowledge in Art, she
confines without limits by using the art as the vehicle between the
fantasy of dream and time.

“She
is searching to find something innovative, expressive and beautiful in
her art. She managed with sensibility to interpret the unexpected, by
changing style for the sake of search. She gives up painting
landscapes and still life and with realistic writing is looking for
suppleness in her man-like figures with coloured fulfilment. She has
been studying the pieces of art of the Great Painters of Renaisance in
Italy for years. She has been studying plastic arts and the structure
of human bodies.
She
has been cooperating with Italian artists and finally she has
succeeded in interpreting human figures with exceptional drawing and
coloured accuracy. She is giving an imaginary touch on every game
which attracts the viewer's attention.
The
figures are of physical dimensions so as to move freely, and every
movement is so carefully planned that expresses the meaning and the
essence of the game. In this way, she manages to reach the plastic
reality of the true and the beautiful”.
