Monday 15th April, Rilato Theatre Limassol. Haydn Divertimento, Mendelssohn Double Concerto for piano and violin, Wolf Serenade, Dvorak String Serenade in E Major op.22

 

Tuesday 16th April, Markideion Theatre Pafos. Mozart Divertimento, Rossini String Sonata No.1, Dvorak 2 waltzes, Brahms Hungarian Dance No.1, Verdi Galop from "The Sicilian Vespers", Rossini Polka from "William Tell", Liszt/Gounod Waltz from "Faust", R. Strauss Excerpts from "Rosenkavalier", J. Strauss Intermezzo, Czardas from "Ritter Pazman", "Tritsch-Tratsch" Polka, "Rosen aus den Suden" waltz.
 

Wednesday 17th April, Pasydy Auditorium Nicosia, Charity Performance in aid of the Cyprus Foundation for Muscular Dystrophy Research (under the auspices of Mrs. Irene Lila Clerides). Mendelssohn Double Concerto for piano and violin, Brahms Hungarian Dance No.1, Verdi Galop from "The Sicilian Vespers", Rossini Polka from "William Tell", Lliszt/Gounod Waltz from "Faust", R. This year, the Pharos Chamber Music Festival will present the Vienna String Soloists with four performances, led by Rainer Honeck, concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra - arguably the worlds' best orchestra and Cypriot pianist/conductor Spiros Pisinos, recently appointed as cover conductor for the New York Philharmonic.

 

Founded in 1974 by members of teh Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna String Soloists started appearing abroad in 1979, toured extensively all over Europe and have given to date more than one hundred concerts. The Vienna Solo Strings are famous for their interpretations of classical master pieces and have worked alongside outstanding soloists such as Mischa Maisky, Sabine Mayer, Gidon Kremer, Rudolf BUchbinder, amongst many others.
