"Bir Gun Gelecek" (The Day Will Come)
Nearchos Ioannou's play emphasis on the day that will hopefully come. That is the day when the Cyprus problem will be solved. However unlikely this prospect. The play looks at Cyprus and it's history, how the island came to be divided, talks and a life after a solution.
This satire proves to be rather cynical,
with no real reference to politics or religion. It stresses mainly the
results that may arise after a solution, such as nationalism, racism,
fear and separation of the two communities.
Nearchos Ioannou says that Cyprus can be saved by it's youth as they are not so narrow minded as the generation before, and that they are not afraid of a solution or each other.
