The Cyprus Corner Gallery is presenting paintings and sculptures by Arestis Stasi in an exhibition.

On the 17th October the artist will give a lecture on the subject "The restoration of the iconography of Saint Lazarus after the fire of May 1st 1970.

 Aristides was born in Limassol in 1940 and grew up in Platra. He studied Medieval Drawing in Florence and then continued to study sculpture at the same academy. He also followed the History of Art at the University and majored in the restoration of wood on paintings at the Galleria degli Uffizzi.  With a scholarship he went on to study the Anceint Roman Art and worked as a restorer in Italy and Cyprus.

 

In Italy he had eight atomic exhibitions and one in Cyprus. He has taken part in many team exhibitions. When a student he was awarded for his work in the Piazza Donaletto exhibition. In Cyprus he won 1st prize in a unique competition where his sculpture now stands at the entrance of the Pafos Court housel. His work can be seen in public and private collections
