"Bed Time Stories"

The Gallery Archimede Staffolini is proud to present the first atomic exhibition by Lefteris Tapa entitled "Bed Time Stories." Tapas combines several means and methods to present his exhibition, such as embroidery, drawing and sculpture.

Tapas grew up in an environment of sewing needles and threads, whilst his family made children's clothes. His own interest in sewing and embroidery was inevitable. In this artist's hands the needle becomes a creative tool which upon fabric leaves his talent.

"The Pool" (2001) presents two lovers in an embrace whilst entangled in net. The needle point crates a geometric pattern with no beginning and no end.

Lefteris Tapas was born in 1974. He completed a BA in Fine Arts at the Kent Institute of Art and Design. In 1999 he got his MA in Fine Arts at the University of Kent. He has received various awards and scholarships and has taken part in team exhibitions in England, New Zealand and Cyprus.
